PATNA: Public Sector Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs)—including Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IndianOil), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL)—have transitioned to round-the-clock operations and intensified logistics coordination to ensure the uninterrupted availability of petrol, diesel, and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The elevated operational response comes in reaction to a sudden and sharp increase in fuel demand witnessed across several regions, particularly in the state of Bihar.
The Oil Industry has issued an official reassurance to consumers, confirming that despite intermediate surges in localized demand, adequate stocks of petroleum products and LPG remain available across the country. All necessary supply-chain measures are actively being deployed to maintain smooth, continuous distribution through the OMCs’ extensive nationwide network of terminals, storage depots, pipelines, LPG bottling plants, and retail outlets.
Consumer Directives & Procurement Channels
To optimize distribution efficiency and streamline retail operations during the high-demand period, the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas and the OMCs have issued the following advisories:

LPG Consumers: Retail LPG consumers are requested to utilize official digital booking platforms for their refills and avoid visiting physical distributorships to prevent overcrowding.

Bulk and Industrial Buyers: Commercial, bulk, and industrial consumers of diesel are requested to procure their fuel requirements strictly through authorized institutional procurement channels.

Market Behavior: Consumers are strongly advised to maintain normal purchasing behavior and avoid panic buying, as state infrastructure is fully equipped to handle the current consumption volumes.
Strategic Stock Monitoring
Public Sector OMCs are continuously reviewing real-time stock positions across regional hubs. Executive teams are closely collaborating on dynamic logistics and distribution planning to efficiently manage the enhanced demand scenario without supply disruptions.
