NEW DELHI — Addressing the media at the Parliament premises ahead of the Monsoon Session of 2026, Prime Minister Narendra Modi advocated for high legislative productivity and meaningful parliamentary debates, drawing a parallel between favorable weather patterns and constructive governance. “We pray that the monsoon remains proactive, and the Monsoon Session also remains productive,” the Prime Minister stated, emphasizing the direct impact of forward-thinking legislative action on national welfare.

Celebrating Youth Innovation and High-Tech Milestones

The Prime Minister highlighted a series of recent domestic achievements, framing them as clear indicators of India’s growing global stature and technological capabilities:

    • Private Space Sector Triumphs: Building on past milestones—such as an Indian citizen reaching the International Space Station last year—the PM lauded the recent historic launch by private space startup Skyroot. Led by a team with an average age of 28, the feat underscores how rapid policy reforms enable young entrepreneurs to take calculated risks.

    • Infrastructure and Industrial Delivery: The address cited the dedication of a major oil refinery in Rajasthan, the operationalization of the country’s third semiconductor plant, and the launch of the world’s longest and most powerful green hydrogen train.

     Economic Resilience Amid Geopolitical Headwinds

Despite global supply chain vulnerabilities stemming from the ongoing conflicts in West Asia, the Prime Minister emphasized the strength of the domestic economy:

    • Countering Supply Disruption: The West Asian crisis presented severe energy and resource challenges for India, threatening supply chains for crude oil, diesel, LPG, fertilizers, and chemical inputs.

    • Leading Global Growth: Notwithstanding these international obstacles, India maintained its position as the fastest-growing major economy in the world, registering a growth rate of 7.7 percent.

     Call for Fact-Based Parliamentary Order

Concluding his remarks, Prime Minister Modi echoed the Lok Sabha Speaker’s welcome to parliamentarians, urging members to choose structured, fact-based debate over institutional disruption:

    • Logic Over Disruption: The Prime Minister emphasized that robust logic and data eliminate the need for disruptive strategies in the house.

    • Aspirations of the Youth: He noted that the smooth functioning of Parliament and a collective focus on development directly align with the ambitions of India’s youth, calling for calm, high-impact deliberations that advance the nation’s long-term economic journey.
