Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has drawn intense cross-party criticism following a series of social media posts aimed at Gen Z youth involved in the recent anti-paper leak demonstrations across the country.

Targeting viral protest reels and student slogans from the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP)-led agitation at Jantar Mantar, Ranaut criticized the tone of the demonstrations, labeling participants “Generation Gutter” and questioning their upbringing.

    Overview of Controversial Statements

    • Criticism of Protest Content: Ranaut termed online videos from the student agitation “puke-inducing” and “crass,” writing on social media: “Never in my life have I seen so much ugliness in one place… Ewww, who is birthing and raising them?”

    • Targeting Youth & Women: She directed specific criticism toward female demonstrators, referring to them as “so corrupt and ugly that they can’t even be homemakers” while accusing them of leading irresponsible, dependent lifestyles.

    • Response to Protest Moniker: Addressing the youth calling themselves “cockroaches,” the Mandi MP posted that the demonstrators were “simply subjecting the world to [their] filth, garbage and ugliness.”

    Political Reactions & Demands

    • Opposition Demands Apology: AIMIM leader Waris Pathan condemned the comments, calling on Prime Minister Narendra Modi to take note of the language used by the party MP and demanding a public apology to Gen Z youth.

    • Congress Criticizes Lack of Empathy: Congress leader Bhai Jagtap expressed surprise over Ranaut’s remarks, citing a lack of remorse toward young students and female protesters who faced police action during the demonstrations.
