NEW DELHI – In a major boost to India’s renewable energy capacity, NTPC Green Energy Limited (NGEL) has successfully commissioned a 50.7 MW hybrid solar-wind project in Gujarat.
The announcement, made on March 31, 2026, marks a significant milestone as the group’s total installed commercial capacity climbs to 10,126.4 MW.
Project Breakdown
The new capacity was developed through Ayana Renewable Power Four Private Limited, a subsidiary of the joint venture ONGC NTPC Green Private Limited. The commissioning, effective April 2, 2026, includes:

37.5 MW Solar: Part of a larger 150 MW solar initiative in Gujarat.

13.2 MW Wind: Integrated into a 100 MW hybrid project (consisting of 92.4 MW Wind and 37.5 MW Solar).
Strengthening Green Leadership
With this addition, NGEL’s total capacity has risen from 10,075.70 MW to 10,126.40 MW. This expansion reinforces the company’s role as a primary driver of India’s transition toward carbon-neutral energy solutions.
