NEW DELHI — Union Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan today announced the upcoming launch of his new book, ‘Apnapan’, which provides an intimate look into his three-decade-long association with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The book will be officially released on May 26, 2026, by former Vice President M. Venkaiah Naidu and former Prime Minister H. D. Deve Gowda.
A Journey from Ekta Yatra to Governance
The book serves as a deeply personal account of a partnership that began with the 1991 Ekta Yatra and evolved through Chouhan’s tenure as Chief Minister and his current role in the Union Cabinet.
-
Evolution of Leadership: Chouhan describes the Prime Minister not just as a decisive global leader, but as a “Karmayogi” whose vision transformed political campaigns into movements of national consciousness.
-
Organisational Mastery: The text offers insights into PM Modi’s strategy for grassroots connectivity, his early adoption of technology in governance, and his ability to resolve complex issues through determined dialogue.
Key Themes of ‘Apnapan’
Chouhan highlighted several defining characteristics of the Prime Minister explored in the book:
-
Sensitivity & Resolve: Beyond organisational toughness, the book recounts instances of the PM’s deep empathy for party workers and his compassion for the poor, farmers, and women.
-
Crisis Leadership: Chouhan reflects on PM Modi’s composure and foresight during the COVID-19 pandemic, noting how such crises revealed his true character.
-
Visionary Work Ethic: The author chronicles the PM’s relentless energy and clarity of commitment toward nation-building.
Inspiration for the Youth
Addressing a press conference at PIB Delhi, Chouhan stated that ‘Apnapan’ is more than a narration of events—it is a document of a vision that aims to transform India. He expressed hope that the book would inspire the younger generation by showing that national transformation is driven by discipline, service, and a heartfelt connection with the people rather than just high positions.
