NEW DELHI — In a major administrative push to ensure the sanitization of high-stakes national entrance tests, Union Minister of Education Shri Dharmendra Pradhan chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the operational readiness for the upcoming NEET-UG Re-Examination, scheduled for June 21, 2026.

The hybrid meeting brought together 222 participants, including senior brass from the Ministry of Education, State and Union Territory governments, centrally funded institutes, and the National Testing Agency (NTA), to finalize zero-compromise logistics for the national-level medical entrance test.

    Command Center & Multi-Tier Oversight

To eliminate procedural lapses and secure institutional integrity, the Ministry of Education has outlined a synchronized, multi-layered coordination strategy:

    • Centralized Command Center: A dedicated Command Center headed directly by the Director General of the NTA, Shri Abhishek Singh, will monitor live pan-India operations.

    • On-Ground Ministerial Deputation: Senior officers designated by the Union Ministry will be physically deployed to every state to oversee execution, cross-verify compliance protocols, and maintain real-time reporting links with the central hub.

    • Inter-Agency Security Net: The NTA is collaborating with District Magistrate-led coordination committees, state police forces, and specialized intelligence agencies to fortify security and insulate examination centers from external manipulation.

Key Operational Mandates Issued by Leadership

The top administrative echelon underscored strict timelines and candidate comfort as core priorities for the re-examination:

“The time between now and the date of the re-examination is crucial. There is an absolute need for proactive coordination, timely dissemination of instructions, and strict compliance with all prescribed protocols.” — Shri Vineet Joshi, Secretary, Department of Higher Education

    • Vigilance & Logistics: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan directed all state nodal officers and administrators to maintain the highest thresholds of transparency and efficiency, mandating that the test be conducted in an entirely free and fair environment.

    • Candidate Welfare Framework: Secretary of School Education & Literacy, Shri Sanjay Kumar, instructed state departments to minimize candidate stress by providing essential on-site facilities, including early access to seating arrangements and adequate drinking water provisions at all venues.

State and Union Territory representatives, alongside vice-chancellors of premier higher education institutions, have assured full cooperation, committing to the stringent security protocols and logistical guidelines established by the central ministry.
