NEW DELHI — To mark National Voluntary Blood Donation Day, the Ministry of Defence, in collaboration with the Armed Forces Transfusion Centre, organized a voluntary blood donation camp at Kartavya Bhavan-2 on October 1, 2026.
Centered around this year’s theme, ‘One Drop of Humanity, Give Blood, Save Lives,’ the drive aimed to promote regular voluntary blood donation and build reserves of safe blood for emergency medical needs.
Drive Execution & Participation Statistics
The health initiative saw active participation from senior defense leadership and civilian officials across the ministry:

Turnout: A total of 134 officers and officials from the Ministry of Defence volunteered and donated blood during the drive.

Top Leadership Presence: Chief of Defence Staff and Secretary (Department of Military Affairs) General N S Raja Subramani, Defence Secretary Shri Rajesh Kumar Singh, and Secretary (Department of Ex-Servicemen Welfare) Smt Sukriti Likhi participated in and supported the initiative.

Medical Oversight: Conducted by a specialized medical team comprising 2 Medical Officers, 2 Junior Commissioned Officers, and 10 Paramedical Staff (Blood Transfusion Assistants).
Safety Protocol & Health Standards
The Armed Forces Transfusion Centre deployed full clinical infrastructure to ensure donor safety and quality control:

Donor Screening: All participating officials underwent mandatory pre-donation health screenings and counseling to verify medical eligibility.

Clinical Setup: Requisite medical equipment and transfusion infrastructure were deployed on-site to adhere to strict health and safety standards.
