NEW DELHI — The Ministry of Tourism has finalized preparations for the rollout of Special Campaign 6.0, the Government of India’s nationwide administrative initiative scheduled to run from October 2 to October 31, 2026, focused on institutional cleanliness (Swachhata), public grievance redressal, and reducing pending official references.
This year’s campaign framework places heightened focus on field and outstation public-facing offices, alongside an added operational emphasis on the systematic collection, segregation, and eco-friendly disposal of corporate and administrative electronic waste (e-waste).
Key Highlights & Implementation Strategy

Two-Phase Operational Timeline: Following a preparatory phase (September 15–30, 2026) to establish targets, the active implementation phase will run throughout October across all attached, subordinate, autonomous, and field offices of the Ministry.

Targeted Preparatory Objectives: Ground functionaries have been mobilized to identify pending inter-ministerial references, select physical cleanliness sites, clear office scrap, streamline digital record management, and isolate redundant e-waste equipment.

Special Campaign 5.0 Benchmarks: Building on the preceding year’s metrics, the Ministry previously freed 92,749 sq. ft. of office space, generated ₹12.69 lakh through scrap disposal, weeded out 4,700 physical files, closed 1,100 e-files, and organized 413 cleanliness drives nationwide.

Administrative Scope: The initiative aims to enhance space management, optimize working conditions, and reduce government pendency across all domestic tourism offices and institutes.
