NEW DELHI — Prime Minister Narendra Modi has departed for a historic three-day State Visit to Seychelles from June 27 to 29, 2026. Traveling at the invitation of Seychelles President Dr. Patrick Herminie, the Prime Minister will attend the nation’s milestone Golden Jubilee National Day celebrations as the Guest of Honour.
The visit coincides with the landmark 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between India and Seychelles.
Expanding Maritime Ties: Vision MAHASAGAR
In his departure statement, Prime Minister Modi emphasized Seychelles’ strategic position as a vital maritime neighbor. The visit is set to heavily focus on regional security and the blue economy under India’s Vision MAHASAGAR (Mutual and Holistic Advancement for Security and Growth Across Regions) framework, highlighting a shared commitment to the Global South.
