NEW DELHI — In a major push to overhaul India’s healthcare landscape, Union Minister for Health & Family Welfare, Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda, is set to launch a powerful suite of digital initiatives on Monday, June 29, 2026, at Vigyan Bhawan, New Delhi.
Developed under the National Health Authority (NHA) and the National Resource Centre for EHR Standards (NRCeS), these rollouts are designed to fortify India’s Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI), driving seamless interoperability and making healthcare highly accessible, affordable, and inclusive.
The Flagship Reinventions: Citizen-Facing Apps
1. Aarogya Setu 2.0
The trusted pandemic-era application has been completely reimagined into a comprehensive Personal Health Record (PHR) app. It serves as a single gateway for citizens to:

Create and manage their ABHA (Ayushman Bharat Health Account).

Share digital health records via consent-based exchange.

Access AI-powered health insights, smart health reports, and integrate wearable devices.

Utilize “Scan & Register” for OPDs and “Scan & Pay” for hospital billing.

Locate nearby blood banks (with real-time availability), doctors, ambulances, and Jan Aushadhi Kendras.
2. Upgraded Ayushman App & Ayushman Sarathi Chatbot
The enhanced Ayushman App provides a unified digital station for AB PM-JAY beneficiaries to check eligibility, download Ayushman Cards, track treatment histories, and submit grievances. Concurrently, Ayushman Sarathi—a dedicated WhatsApp chatbot—will launch to deliver these critical services via a simple, conversational interface to boost last-mile delivery.
Transforming Health Claims and Provider Networks
To bridge the gap between healthcare delivery and backend insurance management, the Ministry is dedicating two monumental frameworks to the nation:

National Health Claims Exchange (NHCX): A unified DPI designed to standardize and speed up health claims processing between hospitals and insurance payers, drastically reducing manual administrative burdens.

FHIR Bundle Utility: An NHA-led tool that converts insurance plans into standardized, error-free Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) bundles to streamline claims validation.

Unified Health Interface (UHI): An open, interoperable network allowing citizen-facing apps to seamlessly discover and connect with open-market healthcare providers.

e-Sushrut Clinic: A plug-and-play clinic management solution allowing local healthcare providers to digitize workflows, manage electronic health records, and integrate directly with the ABDM ecosystem.
Building a Universal Medical Language
Recognizing that semantic data harmony is crucial for clinical decision-making, the government is introducing a trio of foundational standardization registries:
