The Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship (MSDE) has concluded its fortnight-long Swachhata Pakhwada 2026 campaign, observed from July 16 to July 31, 2026. Organized under the guidelines of the Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation (DDWS), Ministry of Jal Shakti, the drive aimed to integrate cleanliness, waste management, and sustainability across MSDE’s nationwide network of offices, autonomous bodies, and field training institutions.
Core Activities & Employee Engagement
The campaign began with the administration of the official Swachhata Pledge by Secretary (MSDE) Debashree Mukherjee, setting the framework for a series of operational and awareness initiatives:

Single-Use Plastic Mitigation: A specialized workshop on “Curbing Single-Use Plastic” was conducted to train personnel in adopting eco-friendly alternatives and managing institutional waste.

Afforestation Drive at Kaushal Bhawan: Senior officials led a tree plantation drive at MSDE headquarters in New Delhi, planting indigenous saplings to expand green cover.

Employee Competitions: Staff and trainees participated in slogan writing and poster-making competitions centered around environmental conservation and workplace hygiene.
Nationwide Institutional Participation
MSDE’s subordinate offices, autonomous organizations, and Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) across India executed parallel outreach programs:

Field & Campus Drives: Cleanliness campaigns, local plantation drives, and workplace sanitation activities were carried out across skill institutes nationwide.

Community Outreach: Field offices collaborated with local bodies to promote behavioral shifts around waste segregation and sanitation.

Digital Campaigning: MSDE used its official web and social platforms to amplify messaging regarding public hygiene and civil participation in the Swachh Bharat Mission.
