NEW DELHI — In a written reply in the Rajya Sabha, Union Minister of Minority Affairs Shri Kiren Rijiju outlined the cumulative achievements and financial allocation under the central government’s ‘Jiyo Parsi’ scheme aimed at stabilizing the declining population of the Parsi community.
Since its inception in 2013, the initiative has incurred a total expenditure of ₹37.43 crore, supporting 582 medical beneficiaries for infertility treatments, childbearing, and postnatal care, alongside 1,055 beneficiaries under the Health of Community component since FY 2018–19. The program has registered 534 births within the community since FY 2014–15, with independent third-party evaluations validating the scheme’s efficacy in meeting its demographic targets.
