CHENNAI — Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Science and Technology Dr. Jitendra Singh delivered the inaugural address at the 14th BRICS Science, Technology, and Innovation (STI) Ministerial Meeting in Chennai.
Speaking under India’s 2026 BRICS Presidency theme, “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability,” Dr. Singh outlined India’s expanding global outreach in scientific research and technological advancement. Addressing international delegations, he emphasized the need for a collaborative ecosystem to ensure emerging technologies—including Artificial Intelligence, quantum computing, biotechnology, and photonics—remain accessible, affordable, trusted, and sustainable, particularly for the Global South.
