In his tribute, Shah hailed the 8th-century philosopher as the “life force of Sanatan culture” and a pivotal figure in the unification of India.
The Home Minister emphasized that Adi Shankaracharya appeared at a critical juncture in Indian history, a time when the nation’s cultural and religious fabric was facing significant external and internal challenges.
Reviving Vedic Wisdom and Unity
Shah highlighted several key contributions of the Jagadguru that continue to define the spiritual landscape of India:

Advaita Vedanta: He paved the way for the philosophy of non-dualism, allowing society to “behold the vision of truth” and move beyond rigid social structures.

Establishment of the Four Mutts: To weave the nation into a “thread of unity,” he traveled across the subcontinent and established four monastic institutions (Mutts) in the four cardinal directions:
