NEW DELHI — In a major administrative update from the Ministry of Home Affairs, two top-tier IPS officers from the AGMUT cadre have been reassigned to spearhead law enforcement in different regions. The official memorandum, dated May 13, 2026, marks a significant pivot in the security leadership of the national capital and the island territory.

The Ministry has ordered the following personnel changes with immediate effect:

Sh. Ravindra Singh Yadav (1995 Batch): Previously stationed in Delhi, Mr. Yadav has been promoted to the role of Director General of Police (DGP) for the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.

Sh. Hargobinder Singh Dhaliwal (1997 Batch): The outgoing DGP of Andaman & Nicobar Islands will now move to Delhi to take up his new posting.

Issued from the Ministry’s headquarters at Kartavya Bhavan-3, the order (No.15041/03/2024.UTS.I) carries the approval of the Competent Authority. Both officers are directed to assume their respective charges immediately, ensuring a seamless transition in the police hierarchy across both jurisdictions.
