NEW DELHI — Union Minister for Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, Rajiv Ranjan Singh (Lalan Singh), announced significant progress across India’s livestock and dairy sectors, highlighting expansion in institutional credit, digital extension services, and export growth.
Key achievements include scaling Kisan Credit Card (KCC) coverage to over 50.42 lakh animal husbandry farmers in FY 2025–26—a sharp rise from 15.08 lakh in FY 2021–22. Annual national milk production reached 247.87 million tonnes in 2024–25, outstripping domestic demand of 243 million tonnes and driving total dairy exports to $407.18 million in FY 2025–26. The Ministry continues to push genetic upgradation, fodder development, and doorstep healthcare through its flagship national initiatives.
