GANGTOK: The Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas on Monday clarified that the supply and distribution of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) across Sikkim remains completely normal, stable, and well-stocked. Addressing localized concerns, the Ministry ruled out any shortage of domestic gas cylinders in the state.
Distribution Data Highlights Smooth Delivery
Data released by local Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) indicates an efficient supply-to-demand ratio across the state’s rugged terrain:
-
Current Pending Bookings: 3,839 cylinders statewide.
-
Average Daily Deliveries: 3,330 cylinders distributed daily.
-
Average Waiting Period: 1.15 days, signaling a minimal backlog and highly regularized supply pipelines.
Official Advisory Against Panic Booking
The Ministry has urged consumers not to resort to panic booking or create unnecessary crowds at physical LPG distributorship offices. OMCs confirmed that domestic gas stock reserves are adequate to meet both immediate and long-term regional requirements.
To maintain social distancing and streamline logistics, the government has advised consumers to utilize official digital booking facilities rather than visiting distributorship premises. Secure booking channels include:
-
Dedicated Missed Call numbers
-
Interactive Voice Response System (IVRS)
-
Official WhatsApp booking bots
-
OMC Mobile Applications
State-run Oil Marketing Companies are continuously monitoring supply routes across Sikkim’s hilly corridors and have reiterated their commitment to maintaining uninterrupted, seamless delivery to all consumers.
