Prime Minister Narendra Modi extended national congratulations to India’s contingent at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games following a historic single-day medal haul across Boxing, Para-Athletics, and Track & Field events.
Leading the tally were Indian boxers, who secured five Gold medals and two Silver medals, headlined by dominant performances from Sachin Siwach, Arundhati Choudhary, Priya Ghangas, Sakshi, Jasmine Lamboria, and Preeti. In Para-Athletics, Soman Rana created history by securing India’s first-ever CWG Gold in the Men’s Shot Put F57 event, accompanied by teammate Shubham Juyal, who clinched Silver in the same discipline. Meanwhile, Praveen Chithravel and Selva Prabhu Thirumaran earned Silver and Bronze in Triple Jump, both marking career-best achievements.
