NEW DELHI: Highlighting deepening geopolitical and strategic alignment in the South Caucasus region, Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi extended warm congratulations to Armenian Prime Minister Mr. Nikol Pashinyan following the resounding victory of his Civil Contract Party in the national parliamentary elections.

In an official diplomatic communication, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that the fresh mandate reflects the deep-rooted trust, political confidence, and endorsement that the people of Armenia have placed in Pashinyan’s administrative vision and long-term leadership.

    🇦🇲🤝🇮🇳 India-Armenia Diplomatic Profile

    • Event: Armenian Parliamentary Election Victory (June 2026)

    • Winning Party: Civil Contract Party

    • Re-Elected Leader: Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan

    • Bilateral Focus Areas: Defense procurement, trade corridor logistics, technology transfers, and historical cultural ties.

    • Geopolitical Alignment: Enhancing the strategic partnership across Eurasia.

    Deepening a Multi-Dimensional Strategic Partnership

The congratulatory message from New Delhi lands at a time when relations between India and Armenia are experiencing a historic transformation. Over the last few years, bilateral ties have grown rapidly from basic diplomatic interactions into a comprehensive defense and strategic alliance.

Armenia has emerged as a key international buyer of indigenous Indian defense systems—including Pinaka multi-barrel rocket launchers, anti-drone tech, and advanced artillery—making the stability of Pashinyan’s government a matter of significant interest to New Delhi’s defense export ecosystem.

Prime Minister Modi noted that he eagerly anticipates working closely with the re-elected administration to scale up joint initiatives, focusing particularly on regional security cooperation, IT innovation, and emerging trade routes like the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC).

“Warm and Historic Ties” — PM Modi’s Tribute

Taking to social media platform X, Prime Minister Modi tagged the Armenian leader to publicly reaffirm India’s commitment to fostering stable, long-term Eurasian partnerships.

“Congratulations to Mr. Nikol Pashinyan on the impressive victory of the Civil Contract Party in the parliamentary elections. The renewed mandate reflects the enduring trust and confidence of the people of Armenia in your leadership and vision. I look forward to working closely with you to further deepen the warm and historic ties of friendship and cooperation between India and Armenia. @NikolPashinyan”

    — Prime Minister Narendra Modi

The continuation of the Civil Contract Party’s governance ensures policy continuity for several multi-million dollar trade and defense agreements currently being executed between New Delhi and Yerevan, anchoring India’s growing footprint along crucial Eurasian trade corridors.
