GANDHINAGAR – Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Gujarat on March 31, 2026, for a high-impact tour centered on technological self-reliance, cultural heritage, and infrastructure expansion. The visit includes the inauguration of India’s second commercial semiconductor plant and the launch of projects worth over ₹20,000 crore.

    Key Highlights of the Visit:

    • Jain Heritage at Koba Tirth: On the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti, the PM will inaugurate the Samrat Samprati Museum in Gandhinagar. Named after the grandson of Emperor Ashoka, the museum features seven galleries showcasing over 2,000 rare Jain artifacts, manuscripts, and immersive digital exhibits.

    • Semiconductor Milestone in Sanand: Marking a major step for the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM), the PM will inaugurate the Kaynes Semicon Plant. This is India’s second OSAT facility to start commercial production (after Micron). It will manufacture Intelligent Power Modules (IPMs) for global clients, with a projected capacity of 6.33 million units per day upon full completion.

    • Infrastructure Blitz in Vav-Tharad: The PM will dedicate or lay foundation stones for projects exceeding ₹20,000 crore, including:

      • Ahmedabad-Dholera Expressway: A ₹5,100 crore access-controlled highway.

      • Renewable Energy: The Khavda Pooling Station-2 to facilitate the evacuation of 4.5 GW of green energy.

      • Railways: Doubling of the Kanalus–Jamnagar line and the inauguration of the Himmatnagar–Khedbrahma gauge conversion.

      • Tourism & Water: A new light and sound show at Rani ki Vav (Patan) and major water pipeline projects for the Banaskantha region.
