NEW DELHI — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lauded India’s youth as both the nation’s future and its strongest present driver of growth, citing a classical Sanskrit Subhashitam to underline how leadership built on empathy and service wins global trust and respect.
In a post shared on the social media platform X, the Prime Minister highlighted the distinct global footprint created by young Indians through their dedication and capability.
“Our young friends are not only the future of the country, but also the biggest strength of the present. They have made a distinct identity across the world through their sensitivity, spirit of service, and capability,” PM Modi stated.
The Wisdom of the Subhashitam
To reinforce his message, the Prime Minister quoted a traditional verse defining the principles of gaining widespread goodwill and public trust:
“चक्षुषा मनसा वाचा कर्मणा च चतुर्विधम्। प्रसादयति यो लोकं तं लोकोऽनुप्रसीदति।।”
-
Meaning: A person who pleases and wins over the world through four dimensions—their vision (sight), thoughts (mind), words (speech), and actions (deeds)—earns, in return, the enduring trust, respect, and goodwill of the people.
Focus on Youth-Led Growth
The Prime Minister’s message underscores the administration’s continued emphasis on empowering the nation’s demographic dividend. By linking ancient philosophical wisdom with the modern achievements of young professionals, innovators, and social workers, PM Modi reiterated that character-driven action remains central to India’s rising influence on the global stage.
