Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a high-level Semiconductor Roundtable with leading global and domestic CEOs at Seva Teerth today, reiterating the government’s commitment to building a globally competitive semiconductor and technology ecosystem.
Encouraging industry leaders to actively participate in the next phase of India’s growth, PM Modi stressed that India must aspire to be among the early leaders in emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Quantum Computing. Pointing to the government’s ambitious goal of training one crore people in AI, the Prime Minister noted that combining India’s vast talent pool with the expertise of global industry leaders will unlock immense opportunities across the value chain.
During the discussion, PM Modi assured business leaders of a predictable, responsive, and constantly evolving policy framework tailored to keep pace with rapid technological developments. He invited CEOs to share administrative and policy suggestions to further strengthen the ecosystem under India Semiconductor Mission (ISM) 2.0.
The roundtable saw participation from top executives representing semiconductor giants including Micron, Intel, AMD, ASML, Applied Materials, Infineon, Tokyo Electron, Foxconn, Tata Electronics, IBM Research, CG Power, and SEMI, among others.
Expressing strong confidence in India’s growing capabilities across chip design, manufacturing, R&D, and supply chain infrastructure, the attending CEOs lauded the government’s sustained policy support and pledged their continued commitment to establishing India as a global semiconductor hub.
