PATNA — Senior Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Preeta Verma (1991 batch) has been assigned additional charge as the acting Director General of Police (DGP) of Bihar. The temporary appointment follows incumbent police chief Vinay Kumar proceeding on a 21-day medical and personal leave running through October 5, 2026.
The interim arrangement ensures administrative continuity across the state police headquarters while the formal search for a permanent DGP is actively underway.
