NEW DELHI — Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the 20th edition of the Rozgar Mela via video conferencing, distributing more than 51,000 appointment letters to newly inducted recruits across various central government departments and ministries.

Underscoring the role of the nation’s youth in achieving the vision of Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047, the Prime Minister outlined major policy initiatives spanning employment generation, industrial skilling, trade expansion, and public administration reforms.

    Key Takeaways from the Address

    • Appointment Letters Issued: Over 51,000 new recruits inducted into central government services nationwide.

    • Economic Growth Baseline: India registered a 7.8% GDP growth rate in the first quarter of the current financial year, supported by a nearly 12% increase in investment.

    • Governance Mantra: Emphasized “Citizen Devo Bhava” as the guiding operational principle for civil servants, urging new recruits to leverage the iGOT Karmayogi and Karmayogi Prarambh platforms for continuous skill enhancement.

Employment Schemes & Industrial Skilling Initiatives

The Prime Minister highlighted major financial outlays targeted at boosting employment across both the public and private sectors:

    • PM Viksit Bharat Rozgar Yojana: Backed by an outlay of approximately ₹1 lakh crore, the scheme aims to facilitate the entry of nearly 20 million (2 crore) youth into the formal workforce. It provides direct first-job incentives of up to ₹15,000 for new employees alongside subsidies for job-creating employers.

    • PM-SETU Scheme: Supported by a ₹60,000 crore investment, the project is modernizing 1,000 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in direct partnership with industry leaders to align vocational education with market needs.

    • Startup Ecosystem: India currently ranks as the world’s third-largest startup ecosystem, with nearly 50% of recognized startups operating out of Tier-2 and Tier-3 cities.

Global Trade & International Cooperation Frameworks

    • Free Trade Agreements (FTAs): India has finalized FTAs with nearly 40 countries, expanding market access for domestic entrepreneurs and creating international career avenues for skilled professionals.

    • BRICS Engagements: Following the recent BRICS Summit, India launched institutional mechanisms including BRICS CONNECT and the BRICS MSME Cooperation Portal to broaden economic engagement across small businesses, entrepreneurs, and youth.
