NEW DELHI / HYDERABAD — Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a high-profile visit to Karnataka and Telangana tomorrow, May 10, to unveil a massive infrastructure and welfare package worth approximately ₹9,400 crore. The visit, centered on the theme of “Viksit Telangana for Viksit Bharat,” blends spiritual outreach with a heavy focus on industrial and healthcare expansion.

    Bengaluru: Spiritual and Humanitarian Milestones

The Prime Minister’s day begins at 11 AM in Bengaluru, where he will join the 45th Anniversary Celebrations of The Art of Living. The event coincides with the 70th birthday of Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar.

Key highlights of the Bengaluru leg include:

    • Dhyan Mandir: Inauguration of a new, state-of-the-art meditation hall at the Art of Living International Centre.

    • Service Initiatives: Launch of nationwide projects focused on mental well-being, rural development, and social transformation.

Telangana: A ₹9,400 Crore Infrastructure Overhaul

At 3 PM, the Prime Minister will shift his focus to Hyderabad to kickstart a series of transformative projects designed to boost connectivity and logistics in the Deccan region.

    Industrial and Textile Growth

    • PM MITRA Park (Warangal): Inauguration of the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park. Built at a cost of ₹1,700 crore, it is India’s first fully functional park under the PM MITRA scheme, aimed at streamlining the “Farm to Foreign” textile supply chain.

    • Zaheerabad Industrial Area: Foundation stone laying for a 3,245-acre smart industrial township in Sangareddy. Part of the Hyderabad-Nagpur Industrial Corridor, the ₹2,350 crore project is expected to attract ₹10,000 crore in private investment.

    Connectivity and Energy

    • NH-167 Expansion: Work begins on the four-laning of the Gudebellur-Mahabubnagar section of the Hyderabad-Panaji Economic Corridor (₹3,175 crore), expected to slash travel time by 90 minutes.

    • Railway Upgrades: Dedication of multiple sections of the Kazipet-Vijayawada multi-tracking project and the Kazipet Rail Under Rail Bypass to decongest the busy Grand Trunk corridor.

    • Malkapur Terminal: A new ₹600 crore Indian Oil terminal with a massive 1.65 lakh kilolitre capacity to meet the region’s rising fuel demands.

Healthcare: A Giant Leap for Cancer Care

In a significant boost to regional medical infrastructure, PM Modi will dedicate Sindhu Hospital in Hyderabad to the nation.

Spanning 2.1 million square feet, this 1,500-bed, not-for-profit quaternary care institution is specifically designed as a world-class cancer center. With 29 operation theatres and advanced radiation therapy facilities, it represents one of the largest single-site additions to India’s super-specialty healthcare landscape.

“These projects reflect the vision of integrated development to drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for every citizen,” a government spokesperson stated ahead of the visit.
