KAKINADA — In a major push to elevate operational compliance and safety standards, the State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) organized a specialized safety workshop at its Eastern Offshore Asset in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh.
Held under the aegis of the Directorate General of Mines Safety (DGMS), the session focused heavily on aligning offshore operations with the statutory mandates of the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions (OSH) Code, 2020.
Strategic Focus on the OSH Code, 2020
The workshop brought together regulatory authorities, safety experts, and field personnel to integrate modern risk-mitigation frameworks into everyday upstream operations:

Infrastructure Inspection & Institutional Review
As part of the collaborative initiative, a high-level DGMS delegation led by Director of Mines Safety Shri Ashok Kumar conducted field assessments of ONGC’s local safety infrastructure:

Asset Inspections: The team reviewed operations at ONGC’s Life of Field Services Facility and the crucial Odalarevu Onshore Terminal.

Emergency Readiness: Officials inspected the Fire Safety Display-cum-Training Centre to evaluate tactical response capabilities and modern training simulators.

Workforce Engagement: The visit facilitated direct interactions between regulators and field personnel to exchange site-specific best practices and refine active safety protocols.
