NEW DELHI – The Union Government has finalized sites for seven PM Mega Integrated Textile Region and Apparel (PM MITRA) Parks across Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra.
In a written reply to the Rajya Sabha on Friday, Textiles Minister Shri Giriraj Singh confirmed that the parks have already attracted investment interest totaling ₹63,177 crore. Once operational, each park is projected to generate 3 lakh direct and indirect jobs, covering the entire textile value chain from spinning to garmenting.

Export Growth: India recorded USD 37.75 billion in textile and apparel exports in 2024–25, ranking as the world’s sixth-largest exporter.

Export Promotion Mission (EPM): The new NIRYAT PROTSAHAN component will provide MSMEs with affordable trade finance, interest subvention, and credit guarantees.

Technical Textiles: The National Technical Textiles Mission (NTTM), with an outlay of ₹1,480 crore, is driving research and indigenous machinery development.

Fiscal Support: Continued implementation of RoSCTL/RoDTEP for tax rebates and the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme specifically targeting Man-Made Fibre (MMF) and Technical Textiles.
The Minister also highlighted ongoing efforts for the modernization of the handloom and handicraft sectors through the National Handloom Development Programme and the Comprehensive Handicrafts Cluster Development Scheme (CHCDS) to ensure inclusive growth for traditional artisans.
