NEW DELHI — State-run power transmission giant Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) has successfully commissioned a crucial transmission network in Gujarat, marking a significant step forward for India’s green energy infrastructure.
The newly operational system is dedicated to evacuating clean energy generated from the massive Khavda Renewable Energy (RE) Zone under Phase IV (7 GW) – Part E4 of the national expansion plan.

Project Timeline: While the transmission system went operationally live on June 21, 2026, the company formally received its Date of Commercial Operation (DOCO) certification on July 14, 2026, cementing its successful integration.

The Evacuation Mandate: Designed to handle high-voltage loads, the Part E4 transmission framework is a key pillar of the 7 GW Phase IV expansion. It prevents transmission bottlenecks and ensures that wind and solar energy generated in Khavda can reach power-deficit industrial states without loss.

Regulatory Disclosure: POWERGRID officially informed the stock exchanges regarding the successful commercial operations of the project in compliance with Regulation 30 of the SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.
