RANCHI — Championing sustainable industrial practices, Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL) hosted its Second Ash User Meet 2026 in the capital city of Jharkhand. Anchored by the theme “A Resilient Journey of Transformation from Waste to Wealth,” the forum served as a collaborative platform for policymakers, academics, and industrial consumers to accelerate the commercial utilization of fly ash.
The high-level convention was inaugurated by Shri A K Sehgal, CEO of PVUNL, and Shri Manish Khetrapal, CGM (O&M), who welcomed delegates from across the infrastructure spectrum.

He outlined the company’s core environmental initiatives, which include advanced dry bottom ash handling systems and the integration of Air-Cooled Condenser (ACC) technology to drastically minimize water consumption.

Cutting-Edge Research & Local Empowerment: The utility detailed its pioneering research into the extraction of rare earth minerals from ash, alongside corporate social responsibility efforts aimed at training local Self-Help Groups (SHGs) to manufacture fly ash bricks and related materials.

Institutional Participation: The meet was attended by Shri Aboobacker Siddique P. (IAS), Secretary to the Government of Jharkhand, and Shri V Suresh, Chairman of NBC, alongside domain experts from the Indian Railways, CPWD, HUDCO, IIT (ISM) Dhanbad, CSIR-CIMFR, and ICAR-IARI.
