IMPHAL / NEW DELHI — A high-level delegation from the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD) completed a two-day field inspection across Manipur’s Bishnupur and Churachandpur districts to evaluate ground-level implementation of central rural welfare schemes.
Led by State Nodal Area Officer Shri Altaf Hussain Haji (Deputy Director General, MoRD) alongside Shri Rajesh Kumar (Deputy Director, MoRD), the visit focused on scheme convergence, resolving beneficiary grievances, and accelerating rural livelihood generation.

During interactions with local administrative officials, Self-Help Groups (SHGs), and project beneficiaries, the delegation issued targeted directives to streamline scheme delivery:

PMAY-G & NSAP Grievance Redressal: Addressing direct feedback from rural households, the Nodal Officer directed district authorities to immediately resolve administrative bottlenecks causing delays in installment disbursements under Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana–Gramin (PMAY-G) and pension payouts under the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP).

DAY-NRLM & Lakhpati Didi Drive: The delegation commended SHG performance under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana–National Rural Livelihoods Mission (DAY-NRLM), highlighting high community engagement toward achieving the targeted “Lakhpati Didi” income thresholds.
