    NEW DELHI – Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah extended heartfelt greetings to the nation on Saturday on the auspicious occasion of the Parkash Purab of the second Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Angad Dev Ji.

    Tribute to the Second Guru

    In a message shared on the X platform, the Home Minister highlighted the profound impact of Guru Angad Dev Ji’s life, noting that he transformed service, devotion, and social reform into the fundamental pillars of his spiritual journey.

    Legacy of Equality and Literacy

    Shri Shah emphasized the Guru’s pivotal contributions to the Sikh faith and Indian culture, specifically:

    • The Gurmukhi Script: Guru Angad Dev Ji played a crucial role in developing and propagating the Gurmukhi script, making the scriptures more accessible to the common people.

    • Tradition of Langar: The Home Minister noted that the Guru championed the message of equality and unity through the continued tradition of ‘Langar’ (community kitchen), breaking down social barriers.

    A Timeless Inspiration

    Reflecting on the relevance of these teachings in the modern world, the Home Minister stated that the Guru’s life continues to inspire humanity to walk the path of truth, dedication, and selfless service.

    The greetings come as devotees across the country and the world celebrate the birth anniversary of the Guru, honoring his enduring legacy of spiritual leadership and humanitarian work.
