NEW DELHI — The Department of Food and Public Distribution (DFPD), functioning under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, is preparing to launch Special Campaign 6. Scheduled to run from October 2 to October 31, 2026, the month-long drive aims to institutionalize Swachhata (cleanliness) and streamline administrative processes across all its offices and affiliated organizations.
The primary focus of Special Campaign 6 includes:

Liquidation of Pending References: Faster resolution of pending official matters and public grievances.

Record & Space Management: Systematic archiving and weeding out of physical records to free up office spaces.

E-Waste Management: Safe collection, segregation, and disposal of electronic waste.

Premises Beautification: Cleanliness drives and functional enhancement of workspace environments.
Building on Past Track Records
Special Campaign 6 follows the successful execution of earlier iterations (Campaigns 1.0 to 4.0 held between 2021 and 2024, and Special Campaign 5.0 held in October 2025).
During Special Campaign 5.0 (October 2–31, 2025), DFPD reported significant operational achievements:

1,23,853 files weeded out.

49,830 sq. ft. of office space freed.

₹1.67 crore generated in revenue through scrap disposal.
Sustained Inter-Campaign Momentum
Demonstrating continuity beyond formal campaign periods, DFPD recorded notable outcomes between November 2025 and August 2026:

An additional 72,577 sq. ft. of space was cleared via file weeding, scrap auctions, and cleaning of abandoned areas.

₹25.95 lakh was earned through scrap material sales.

1,493 cleanliness drives were conducted across various locations under DFPD and its allied institutions.
Through Special Campaign 6, the Department seeks to reinforce a sustained culture of governance efficiency, environmental responsibility, and optimized resource utilization.
