KANPUR — In a major administrative development for western Uttar Pradesh’s core industrial hub, Mahendra Singh Tanwar, a 2015-batch IAS officer, has taken office as the 59th District Magistrate of Kanpur Nagar.
After arriving at the district treasury to complete official joining formalties, the officer officially commenced his tenure. Recognized across state administrative cadres for his proactive governance, field-driven management, and frequent routine inspections, Tanwar steps into the leadership role at a time when accelerating civic infrastructure and urban delivery remain top government priorities.
