NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to undertake an official visit to Gujarat and the Union Territory of Daman on June 5, 2026. During the transit, the Prime Minister will inaugurate, dedicate to the nation, and lay the foundation stones for multi-sectoral development projects collectively valued at more than ₹21,700 crore.
The extensive itinerary covers critical transformations in high-speed road corridors, civil aviation, industrial utilities, and healthcare infrastructure, alongside maritime advancements for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep.
First Leg: High-Value Core Infrastructure in Surat (₹18,800 Crore)
The Prime Minister will commence his visit at around 2:30 PM at Hazira in the Surat district to review ongoing industrial operations and infrastructure projects. At 4:15 PM, he will preside over a public ceremony to launch development initiatives across the road, power, and industrial sectors.

Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway: The Prime Minister will dedicate Packages VI and VII of the 8-Lane Access-Controlled Vadodara-Mumbai Expressway to the nation. The new sections are designed to drastically enhance high-speed transportation, logistics efficiency, and economic connectivity between Gujarat and Maharashtra.

Tribal Connectivity & Tourism (NH-56): He will lay the foundation stone for the four-laning of critical sections on NH-56. This project aims to enhance connectivity across tribal regions and boost access to the Statue of Unity.

Healthcare Expansion: The Prime Minister will inaugurate a new 200-bedded ESIC Hospital in Surat. The facility will provide modern secondary healthcare across key specialties, backed by a central laboratory, essential ancillary services, and 24/7 emergency and trauma care tailored to manage occupational injuries and medical emergencies.

Industrial & Power Grid Upgrades: Dedicated projects include the Transmission Network Expansion in Gujarat under the Inter-State Transmission System to enhance power evacuation capacity. State-led initiatives will also be launched, featuring modern power distribution upgrades under the Revamped Reforms-Based Distribution Sector Scheme in Valsad, advanced effluent disposal networks at the Dahej PCPIR and Sarigam GIDC, and layout utilities at the Jambusar Bulk Drug Park.
Second Leg: Regional Growth Initiatives in Daman (₹2,970 Crore)
At around 6:15 PM, the Prime Minister will travel to Daman to launch an array of public welfare, tourism, and connectivity projects designed to boost the overall development of the Union Territory of Dadra and Nagar Haveli and Daman and Diu.

NAMO Airport New Terminal: The Prime Minister will inaugurate the New Terminal Building of NAMO Airport in Daman to enhance regional air connectivity and facilitate localized economic growth.

NAMO Hospital Dedication: He will dedicate the NAMO Hospital—the district hospital in the Daman district—built to cater to nearly 1,500 OPD patients per day and strengthen access to quality healthcare.

New Foundations (₹1,630 Crore): The Prime Minister will lay foundation stones for several marquee projects, including an Iconic Bridge, the Daman Convention Centre, and a dedicated NIFT Campus at Daman to promote investment, tourism, and employment.
Maritime Infrastructure for Lakshadweep (₹885 Crore)
During his address in Daman, the Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stones for four strategically important port infrastructure projects for the Union Territory of Lakshadweep.

The Scope: The projects entail the comprehensive development of multipurpose port facilities on both the Eastern and Western sides of Kalpeni Island and Kadmat Island.

Strategic Capabilities: The new jetties will facilitate the year-round berthing of large passenger vessels, including international cruise vessels up to 300 meters in length.

Socio-Economic Impact: The upgraded ports are designed to enable safe, efficient passenger and cargo handling while providing integrated facilities for fish handling, fuel distribution, ice supply, and boat repair—thereby supporting local fishermen and accelerating maritime tourism.
