JAMUI — Public sector power major SJVN Limited has officially achieved Commercial Operation Date (COD) for its 75 MW Jamui Solar Power Project in Bihar, marking a key addition to its growing clean-energy portfolio.
Executed through its wholly owned subsidiary, SJVN Green Energy Limited (SGEL), the plant has been developed over 300 acres near Village Hadhadiya, Kakanchaur, at an estimated investment of ₹342 crore.

Power Generation: Projected to generate 90 million units of clean electricity in its first year, and approximately 3,522 million units cumulatively over its 25-year operational lifecycle.

Competitive Tariff: Electricity generated will be supplied directly to the state of Bihar under a long-term agreement at a fixed tariff of ₹2.96 per unit.

Decarbonization Impact: Estimated to abate around 82,251 tonnes of carbon emissions annually, contributing to India’s target of achieving 500 GW of non-fossil power capacity by 2030.

Sourcing & Employment: Awarded under a tender floated by the Bihar Renewable Energy Development Agency (BREDA), the project has generated up to 20 direct and 100 indirect green jobs locally.
