GREATER NOIDA — Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Shri Amit Shah inaugurated the fourth edition of the Uttar Pradesh International Trade Show (UPITS 2026) in Greater Noida alongside Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Shri Yogi Adityanath.
Highlighting Uttar Pradesh’s economic trajectory under the dual-engine administration, Shah emphasized the state’s transition from past security challenges to a global manufacturing and investment hub targeting a $1 trillion economy. The event coincided with the 12th anniversary of the ‘Make in India’ initiative and the 110th birth anniversary of Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya.

Trade Show Engagement: Building on UPITS 2025—which recorded over 500,000 visitors and 2,400 MoUs—the 2026 trade show connects international buyers with local industries to accelerate state-level manufacturing, exports, and enterprise partnerships.

Defence Manufacturing Expansion: Uttar Pradesh’s Defence Corridor—spanning nodes in Jhansi, Chitrakoot, Lucknow, Agra, Aligarh, and Kanpur—contributes to India’s ₹1.78 lakh crore domestic defence production. Major operational units include the BrahMos missile facility and the AK-203 assault rifle manufacturing plant in Amethi.

Micro-Enterprise Initiatives: Launch of the ‘One District, One Cuisine’ (ODOC) digital platform to complement the existing ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) framework, expanding national market access for local culinary and handicraft traditions across all 75 districts.
