AMARAVATI – The Government of Andhra Pradesh has announced a targeted administrative reshuffle, placing three Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers at the helm of the Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority (APCRDA).
The notification, issued under G.O.RT.No. 793 on April 18, 2026, signals a strategic push to bolster the leadership team responsible for the state’s capital region development.
Strengthening the Capital Authority
The government has streamlined the APCRDA’s executive branch by bringing in a mix of fresh transfers and “Full Additional Charge” (FAC) arrangements:
-
Kollabathula Karthik (IAS 2020): Moving from his role as Joint Collector of Nandyal, Karthik’s services have been officially transferred to the Municipal Administration & Urban Development Department to serve as Additional Commissioner, APCRDA.
-
G. Surya Sai Praveenchand (IAS 2019): While continuing his duties as Joint Managing Director of AP TRANSCO, Praveenchand will now also shoulder the responsibilities of Additional Commissioner, APCRDA under Full Additional Charge.
-
Pedditi Dhatri Reddy (IAS 2020): Currently the CEO of the Ratan Tata Innovation Hub, Reddy adds the role of Additional Commissioner, APCRDA to her portfolio via Full Additional Charge.
Impact on District Administration
The transfer of Sri Karthik has created an immediate vacancy in the Nandyal District administration. To ensure no disruption in local governance, the Chief Secretary has directed the Nandyal District Collector to make immediate internal in-charge arrangements for the post of Joint Collector & Additional District Magistrate.
Official Directive
The order, signed by Chief Secretary G. Sai Prasad, confirms that these postings are effective immediately. Copies of the directive have been dispatched to the DOPT in New Delhi and the relevant state departments to facilitate a rapid handover of duties.
Administrative Update: This reshuffle highlights the government’s current priority in scaling up the operational capacity of the APCRDA by leveraging high-performing young officers from the 2019 and 2020 batches.
