MEERUT — GAIL Gas Limited is expanding Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connectivity to 1,750 additional residential quarters of the Indian Army in Meerut Cantonment under the NIRMAN initiative.
This expansion builds upon the successful fuel transition across 7,200 Army residential quarters previously completed in Meerut Cantt, providing a safer, continuous, and cleaner energy source for defense personnel and their families.
Project Expansion & Operational Highlights

Residential PNG Expansion: GAIL Gas Meerut is connecting 1,750 additional residential quarters to the PNG network under Project NIRMAN, expanding coverage beyond the 7,200 quarters already connected in Meerut Cantt.

Institutional Supply Proposal: A proposal is under development to supply PNG to 265 messes and cook houses in Meerut Cantt, supporting the daily preparation of approximately 20,000 meals.

Cleaner Energy Transition: Replacing Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) with PNG establishes an efficient, safer, and eco-friendly utility supply for residential and large-scale catering operations across the military station.
