NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Panchayati Raj will host the National Panchayat Awards 2025 Conferment Ceremony on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, in New Delhi. The prestigious national awards will be presented to 42 outstanding Panchayats from across the country in recognition of their exemplary local governance and sustainable development initiatives.
The honors will be jointly conferred by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh (alias Lalan Singh), Union Minister of Panchayati Raj, Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying, alongside Prof. S. P. Singh Baghel, Union Minister of State for Panchayati Raj. The high-profile event will see the participation of Shri Vivek Bharadwaj, Secretary, Ministry of Panchayati Raj, senior central government officials, and elected grassroots representatives from various States and Union Territories.
Award Categories and Distribution Structure
This ceremony marks the final phase of the 2025 awards cycle. Previously, on National Panchayati Raj Day (April 24, 2025), Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi had presented the awards under three special categories. The June 3 event will cover the remaining categories of the National Panchayat Awards 2025, distributed as follows:

Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar: To be awarded to 34 Gram Panchayats for their sustained excellence in localized development goals.

Nanaji Deshmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar: To be conferred upon 8 apex Panchayats for overarching structural and community-driven achievements.
Knowledge Sharing and Documentation
Beyond the distribution of trophies, the event is designed to serve as a national knowledge-sharing platform to replicate success stories across rural India:

Best Practice Presentations: Ahead of the official presentation ceremony, the heads of the awardee Panchayats will deliver detailed case presentations regarding their breakthroughs and operational milestones across two dedicated technical sessions.

Official Releases: The ministry will formally launch an eBook documenting the impactful work, case studies, and localized methodologies implemented by the winning Panchayats.

Policy Compendium: A comprehensive Compendium on Best Practices in Strengthening Panchayati Raj Institutions across India will also be unveiled to act as a structural roadmap for rural local bodies nationwide.
